One thing that we had an issue with, was that there was no coffee service available to the guest until the kitchen opens at 07:30. My wife and I are very early risers, and we both enjoy having a fresh hot cup of coffee as soon as we get up. I would suggest to the Innkeepers that a Keurig single serve coffee maker should be available to coffee lovers.
The Inn at Riverbend is located on the edge of the New River Valley, overlooking the New River, with a view that will make you sit and just ponder.
Beautiful room and stunning views. Proprietors were "prickly" and aloof. Paid 602.00 for two nights without access to "real coffee and cream" until 7:30. Breakfast was simplistic lacking imagination. Experience was lackluster, would recommend looking for a more economical option considering negatives of this experience .
The facility is gorgeous, rooms comfortable, beds that you could melt into. Breakfast was delicious. The host were very welcoming, as was the waitress, Donnie, I think her name was.

This was our first time staying at this beautiful inn. I can't wait to thank the folks that raved about this place. It exceeded our expectations. Jeanne and John were gracious host. We loved the breakfast. This is a great place to unwind and relax. We will return to this wonderful inn.
My wife and I enjoyed the weekend of the Fourth of July at the Inn, toured the local area, did a float trip down the river, with Tangent Outfitters.
Excellent innkeepers - very friendly and welcoming. Inn is at a beautiful location with scenic views all around. Breakfast was average but not really a major concern. I'd highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting the area
I have been reading the reviews and responses and wanted to share my own thoughts. Having recently stayed at the Inn and interacting with both hosts I can tell you that I found the experience delightful. The views are truly spectacular. Was everything perfect? No. Was it worth the cost and experience? Absolutely. Jeanne is sensitive and very kind-hearted. Any negative experience here is likely due to her intense desire to make sure that your stay is beautiful and memorable. If you take a moment to interact with her you will find that she will do anything she is able to do to accommodate you. Additionally, she is a real person and not a chain hotel scripted greeter with a plastic, vague smile. That was true of my experience with everyone at the inn. John is extremely low-key and pleasant. From my husband I understand that the breakfasts made were excellent and the coffee (a blend made specifically for the inn) exceptional. If old money experiences suit you; that is understated class, and a subtle catering to your (reasonable) individual needs, this is well-worth the time and money. Equally, this is likely not worth the effort for those looking for something to complain about. This is an inn, not a Hilton and the experience being sought should not be that of a cookie-cutter hotel. Instead, maybe put your computer down, sit on the porch, breathe and get over technology a little bit for the weekend. Check out the train in the distance and watch the river roll...
